Bored of Facebook? Tired of tweeting? There are quite a few alternative social media companies out there. You don’t hear about it, NOT because people aren’t using them, BUT because the dominate media companies DON’T mention them. Here, I will review all the OTHER social media sites for you.
First lets talk about the controversial Parler social Network. It’s a pretty simple site. But, what was so “controversial” about it? Well, freedom. That’s the controversial thing. They let you post and say WAY MORE than Facebook and Twitter. Their mission isn’t to be speech police and nazi everyone into conforming to what they determine is “factual information” through a team of biased paid “fact-checkers” lol What a joke. But, yes, there are those who post “misinformation” and conspiracy theories… but, I’m a grown ass adult, and will choose to read whatever the f*ck I feel like reading and decided for my self how I feel about what I just read. Facebook nazi bias fact-checkers and go f*ck themselves.
Parler was gaining some serious traffic when, of course, no shocker, Google and Apple colluded and used their fascist power to cut off the App from the App stores. Parler made it still, available to download on their website. So then, no shocker, Amazon, all buddy buddy with leftist fascism then kicked them off of their servers. And that hurt Parler. They were shut down for a while. Eventually they found a more freedom friendly host and started up again. But, it’s not the same.
It’s kinda like a middle ground between twitter’s short posts and facebook’s longer posts. It’s not a bad design.
But this should go as a warning to ALL companies. Don’t do business with ideologue leftists if you aren’t a leftist lol They will throw you under the bus.
Minds.com is a pretty cool LIBERTY Social Media/network. They have their own sort of cryptocurrency that can be used to promote pages and posts on their site. This is more like facebook than a twitter. The posts can be longer but easily searchable with a limit of 5 hashtags.
On the computer this site is very nice. But, the phone app…is trash. I guess they are scared of getting nixed like Parler, so they GREATLY LIMIT what can be viewed and loaded in the phone app. Almost makes the app pointless. And if I can’t carry and post on Minds on the fly, makes the whole thing kinda pointless.
According to Sitechecker.pro, they get over 1.3 million in traffic every month. It’s not a “small” social network and is WAY more free.
They do have a “pro” version but it isn’t necessary.
This seems to have a more variety of content and content creators. You have your politics, spiritual, news, anime, art, and all kinds of stuff; very easy to find. A very libertarian app 😉
Next there is Gab.com. Now these guys were smart. They, unlike Parler, knew the fascist digital book burning tendencies the left has. They already knew they couldn’t trust Google, Apple, and Amazon. So, their social network is designed to work on PHONE BROWSERS. There is no app to download from the app stores. You go to their website and save it to your homescreen. The design is FOR PHONES. It’s like an app.
Their host is a very freedom friendly tech company too. So they don’t have to worry about some Nazi urge by Amazon to kick them off their server. All the problems Parler experienced, these guys were already prepared for.
During the first real mass exodus off of Facebook and Twitter, and while Parler was getting beaten up, Gab experienced such a mass migration, that their servers greatly slowed down. They suddenly had to expand. This crazy lagging turned off a lot of people.
They also have a “pro” version. But their free stuff is very simple and basic. Everything you need to share whatever the f*ck you want as a free human being.
This social network is almost like its own subculture lol
And then there is Gettr. A solid alternative to Twitter. Super simplistic app. Sadly, it seems to be like 90% about politics. I mean, if that’s your lifestyle and the kind of air you always want to be breathing, it’s perfect for you. But, me, personally, politics all the time, gets old.
The upside to this network is that it is very active.
If the Republican party had a social network, this would be it lol.
Aside from the fact that Trump is apparently going to create his own…
And then, there is Vero… sadly, this company is going in the direction of FB and TWIT in that they are very leftist in ideology. The whole set up is kinda dumb too. It’s a pain the ass to post things. The “follow” and friends feature has like 4 different levels or phases for friends… idk, its dumb. It’s moderately active, not too busy.
Now this is the most complicated social network for simple people. So much so, it’s a turn off and will never be that popular… a shame too because it is very freedom friendly…
Same with Mastodon. Such a great idea and purpose but holy shit it is overly complicated.
MeWe sucks. Its poor quality, cheap trash.
Freespace is a pile of shit too.
All of these above are general social networks for any occasion. There are some good alternatives to YouTube, Twitch, and Vimeo, like Rumble.com, DTube, and BitChute for example.
If everyone just used Minds.com and Rumble, the social networking wordwide would be so much more FREE…
